The Heydar Aliyev Baku Refinery is an oil refinery located in Baku, Azerbaijan. It was founded in 1953 and is owned by the National Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan. It is currently the only refinery in Azerbaijan and is capable of producing about 120,000 barrels of refined oil per day. The refinery meets the entire domestic demand for petroleum products and exports more than 40 percent of its production. The plant processes 15 different products including gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, black oil, petroleum coke, asphalt, lubricants and more. 2. The Laffan Refinery is an important part of Qatar's strategic vision to process and add value to field condensate produced at Qatargas facilities. Qatargas owns two world-scale refineries located in Ras Laffan Industrial City and is one of the largest condensate processors in the world.a) Lavan Refinery 1Laffan Refinery 1 (LR1) captures synergies and opportunities from the development of North Field, Qatargas and other Ras Laffan Industrial City businesses. It consists of process units including utility systems, distillation units, naphtha and kerosene hydrotreaters, hydrogen units and saturated gas units for the production of naphtha, kerojet (A1), gas oil and blended LPG.b) LR1 handles condensate, a related product of natural gas production that can be refined into a number of high-quality products that can be used as low-emission fuels and feedstock for petrochemical production. All products are hydrotreated to reduce sulfur content and comply with the strictest quality standards (Euro V).Commissioned in 2009, the refinery has a capacity of 146,000 barrels per stream day (bpsd) and utilizes field condensate produced at the Qatargas facility. Laffan Refinery has a capacity of 61,000 bpsd for naphtha, 52,000 bpsd for kerojet, 24,000 bpsd for gas oil and 9,000 bpsd for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).c) The shareholders of Laffan Refinery 1 are: Qatar Petroleum (51%), Total (10%), ExxonMobil (10%), Cosmo (10%), Idemitsu (10%), Mitsui (4.5%) and Marubeni (4.5%).
